Marico is looking to acquire companies and brands in the beauty and wellness segments as a part of it's strategy to maintain a growth of 26-27% in the coming years. The size of the acquisition would be anywhere between R200Cr and R1,000Cr.

2) New Silk Route Acquires Minority Stake In Varsity Education Mgmt

New Silk Route Partners has acquired a minority stake in Hyderabad based educational services provider - Varsity Education Management Pvt Ltd. The financial details of the transaction were not disclosed.

National Multi Commodity Exchange is talking to five PE funds and banks to raise upto R20-30Cr to comply with the minimum capital rules.

Forward Markets Commission, the commodity futures regulator, has asked commodity exchanges with 5 years of operations to have a minimum equity capital of R100Cr by 31 March.

Reliance Communication Limited has tied up with Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Ltd (ICBC), China Development Bank Corporation (CDB), Export Import Bank of China(EXIM) and other Banks for refinancing for redemption of outstanding FCCBs of $1.18 Bn (R6125Cr).The loans will have a tenure of 7 years and interest cost of about 5%.

5) Dishman Pharma Acquires France Based - Creapharm Parenterals

Dishman Pharmaceuticals & Chemicals Ltd has acquired France based contract development firm - Creapharm Parenterals through it's wholly owned subsidiary - Carbogen Amcis AG.

As part of this acquisition, Creapharm Parenterals has changed its name to Carbogen Amcis SAS. Financial terms were not disclosed.
