According to ET, Bandhan Financial Services is planning to raise R70-80 Cr in February by issuing NCDs. This is part of Bandhan's annual plan of R2400Cr. The funds will be used for on-lending to poor women borrowers in 1,553 branches.
Earlier in Nov'11, Bandhan raised $7Mn debt from Switzerland based responsAbility Social Investments AG.

2) IFC Invests In Blackstone Backed - FINO

IFC has invested in Financial Inclusion Network And Operations Limited. The funds will be used for scaling up its low-income group remittance, deposit and insurance business.
Last July, the company raised R150Cr from Blackstone.
Earlier, it has raised funding from IFC, HSBC Private Equity and Intel Capital.

Oman Investment Fund's application to invest R13.75Cr in Universal Commodity Exchange has been approved by the FIPB. The investment is being made through Funderburk 2 Mauritius Ltd.

5) Canaan Partners Closes $600Mn Technology & Healthcare Fund

Canaan Partners has announced the closing of a $600Mn fund Canaan IX.
Canaan Partners will invest two thirds of this new fund in technology in fields including digital media, consumer Internet, enterprise, mobile and communications companies in the U.S., India and Israel, while the balance will go to health care investments in biopharmaceutical, medical device and health care infrastructure companies.

Tricom India Limited is raising R20.25Cr through preferential allotment and convertible warrant.
The company approved the allotment of 10 Mn equity share of R2 per share at R13.5/- and 5 Mn convertible warrant of R13.5/-.
According to Tricom's annual report, the company is raising funds for normal capital expenditure, expansion, acquisition's, general corporate purposes, working capital requirements etc.

7) Saga Music Acquires Punjabi Content Focused Company - Lucky Stars

Saga Music has acquired music label Lucky Stars, a regional music company with focus on Punjabi content.
This acquisition will widen Saga Music's presence in Indian regional and devotional music distribution. The company will add to its catalogue over 125 albums released by Lucky Stars in 5 different languages, which include Punjabi chartbusters Lalan Di Qurbani and Roula Pai Gaya.
