Emami Group is looking for acquisitions in the personal health care segment. The acquisition size could be in the range of Rs.200 cr and Rs.1500 cr. It is also planning to buyout a company in edible oil business. Rumours are on that Emami is keen to acquire Amrutanjan, however the promoters of Amrutanjan have denied any such developments.

Mphasis Ltd is acquiring Fortify Infrastructure Services for $15 Mn in an all cash transaction. Avendus Capital was the advisor to Mphasis for this transaction. Earlier in Aug'09, MphasiS acquired the captive unit of AIG (AIG Systems Solutions) which provides IT services and solutions to AIG companies worldwide for an undisclosed amount.

3) Bharat Serums Raises PE Funding From OrbiMed

5) Ackruti City To Raise Rs 250 Cr

Ackruti City Ltd plans to raise Rs 250 cr on an immediate basis to finance 3-4 of projects that the company plans to launch soon.
The company is in talks to sell stakes in SPVs formed for projects costing $60-150 mn to private equity firms.
Ackruti City has also sought SEBI's approval for its proposed Rs 400-500 cr real estate VC fund for which it has roped in Pacifica Fund and Beekman Helix as partners.

6) Pipavav Shipyard Raises $40 Mn From Valiant Fund

Valiant Funds of the United States has invested $40 mn in Pipavav Shipyard by subscribing to compulsorily convertible debentures in the company.
Pipavav Shipyard will use the funds to finance a potential buyout of an offshore shipping company in Europe.
Pipavav issued 2.54 cr unsecured debentures at Rs 70 to Valiant Mauritius Partners and Valiant Mauritius Partners Offshore. The debentures can be converted into equity in a year.
